The Students of Class VI, VII, VIII of Vidyodaya Matriculation Higher Secondary Academy visited Samaritan Residential School, Elagiri to get hands on experience on the techniques of farming in connection with the United Nations International Year of Family Farming 2014.
The students learnt about sericulture, vermicomposting, dairy farming and other factors involved in agriculture of various food crops.
The trekking experience was the highlight of the day.
Understanding the hard work put in by the farmers the students pledged not to waste food because every grain is precious.
